Hey there, everyone!
Welcome to my author blog. I want to start out by giving a BIG “thank you” to all those who have encouraged me, supported me, and walked alongside of me in this journey.
Whenever I read a book, I always wonder what inspired the author to create those specific characters in that specific setting. What is the story behind where their novel is coming from? My hope for this blog is to create such a space, where my readers and friends can get a little more insight into who I am, and why I wrote the books I have. I also want to bravely share some other creative works I have written/will write, in the form of poems, spoken words, and short stories.
The biggest reason I write is out of a sense of purpose. I feel purposed by the Lord to publish these books, because I believe in the empowering of people to use their gifts for God’s glory. It is my desire to encourage creative passion and purposefulness in others. Everyone has their own story to tell, and I think stories are such an incredible way to communication hope, love, and faith.
Actually, I had no intentions or desires of becoming an author, but of course God knew better. When I was a kid, I was always dreaming up heroic tales, with leading ladies and dashing princes. I remember even in middle school, I would write out my daydreams on the bus ride home. They were always made-up stories that were inspired by whatever movie I had watched recently or whatever had happened at school that day. (Which I will share some here, if I can find them.) It wasn’t until after college that I took any of my writing seriously enough to pursue publishing. And now, thanks to the creative spirit of the Lord in me and my big sister’s reassurance, I am the proud author of four wonderful stories that reflect my faith and share my love for adventure.
It’s so crazy for me to realize that I am a published author. Sometimes people will come up and congratulate me and I will feel sort of out of place, not sure that I am really deserving of such praise. But I guess that’s often the way the Lord works in our lives, if we let Him. He takes what looks like an empty space or a barren field, and transforms into something wonderful. I think at heart God is the biggest dreamer of us all, and when we partner with Him, He plants His dreams in us and we become something we never thought we would be, but more.
Hope you enjoy!
